There are several thousand people in this county that "self-haul" - and they do so for various reasons: Because they prefer not to pay for a service that they can do themselves; because they produce very little trash; because they are on a fixed income or are low income and cannot afford the monthly fee; because they live relatively close to the landfill and it’s easy for them to do; because they like to take their own recycling to drop-offs; or all of the above. Under this new program, this will no longer be an option to any of you - you will have to pay the fee no matter what!
